Michael Ndiweni's journey began on November 25, 2023, a date he'll never forget. At just 19, he stepped onto the hallowed turf of St. James' Park, replacing Anthony Gordon in a thrilling 4-1 victory over Chelsea. It was a surprise debut, but one that left an indelible mark.
"The reception I received was incredible," Ndiweni recalls. "The fans' applause still echoes in my memory. It's a feeling every football fan dreams of."

"The standard surprised me," he admits. "It's a highly competitive environment with ex-pros and talented youth players."
But it's not just about the football. Ndiweni is also pursuing a bachelor's degree in business finance, ensuring he has a backup plan.
"I wanted to develop myself both on and off the pitch," he says.
Six months on, and Ndiweni is loving life in America. He hopes his story inspires others to take the road less traveled.
"It's been a challenge, leaving my comfort zone, but I'm proud of the person I'm becoming. I want young players to know there's life after release, and it can be an exciting one."
